A Commitment Program to Protect Workers from Chemical Hazards in the Electronics Supply Chain
A safe, healthy work environment is a basic human right. Protecting workers from exposure to toxic chemicals is the right thing to do, and requires collective action.
The Toward Zero Exposure program unites companies throughout the electronics industry in a journey to reduce worker exposure to hazardous chemicals. The program includes three core building blocks:
Value of Commitment
As Signatories, companies are members of a community of leaders who share a strong and valuable commitment to deploying the highest practices in protecting workers from hazardous process chemicals.
Toward Zero Exposure provides resources, tools and structure to boost the credibility of safety claims while optimizing the collection and communication of process chemical data.
Collective Action
Signatories have committed to each of the six Toward Zero Exposure commitments to protect workers from process chemicals in manufacturing. They are invested in engaging with workers and reporting their progress annually. To learn more about the impact the program has already had, as well as our plans for more progress protecting workers from exposure to hazardous process chemicals in the electronics supply chain, please read the second annual report of the Toward Zero Exposure program.
Founding Signatories
Signatories choose when to commit to eliminating or substituting CEPN Priority Chemicals with safer alternatives within three years, starting with the 1st Round and progressing through subsequent rounds of Priority Chemicals. Currently, there are two rounds of CEPN priority Chemicals. Each Signatory is identified here by the highest Priority Chemical round they are currently implementing, reflecting their progress in the program.
