Toward Zero Exposure Program
Development & Maintenance
The Toward Zero Exposure program was developed by the members and advisors of the Clean Electronics Production Network.
CEPN welcomes and encourages feedback on the program from participants as well as interested stakeholders. Program revisions will include a public comment period. If you are interested in being notified of public comment periods, subscribe to our newsletter.
Clean Electronics Production Network
The Clean Electronics Production Network (CEPN) is a multi-stakeholder innovation network, formally launched in June 2016 by the Center for Sustainability Solutions at Green America, to address complex workplace health and safety challenges in the electronics supply chain.
Technical Review Board
The Technical Review Board (TRB) is an advisory body to CEPN and comprises technical experts and select CEPN members including brands, suppliers, certifiers and NGOs. The board’s primary responsibility is to provide recommendations on the selection of process chemicals for elimination or substitution with safer alternatives. The first round of priority chemicals is focused on solvents used in manufacturing cleaning products.
CEPN Design Team
The Design Team—the approving body of CEPN— is a fractal of CEPN’s multistakeholder membership. It consists of chemical, supply chain, and labor experts from global electronics manufacturers, and representatives from non-governmental organizations, NGO, purchasing, and academia.
NGO Advisors
CEPN receives valuable insights from a collection of global worker and labor rights advocates. These organizations and individuals contribute insights from their direct engagement with workers and observation of working conditions in electronics manufacturing.
